Summer Essentials

Sorry I've been m.i.a. for a while now! finals were taking over my life the past two weeks but now thank God it's all over and summer is here! Congrats to all my friends who graduated this year (I love you Zubia) :)
Now that summer is here, i'll be blogging more often and I've promised some of my friends to start posting about men's fashion and music as well! If you all know any upcoming musicians/designers that want to put their name out there, let me know. I'd be more than happy to do a blog post for them!
-------------------------------------------------------
Since it's summer and i have a lot more free time, I've decided to start experimenting with different products to see what works and what doesn't. So far these have been working out:
Big Sexy Hair Shampoo & Conditioner- i took a break from Bumble&Bumble Thickening shampoo to try this out. I picked it up from Mastercuts the other day and it was buy 1 get 1 50% off! Shampoo & conditioner were $12 each
Jergens Natural Glow moisturizer- I've been using this for quite some time now. it actually works! Put some on before going out in the sun and you'll see within a week or two that your skin is developing a nice tan! You can get this from any drugstore (Walgreens, Wal Mart, Target, e.t.c)
Sunglasses & Clinique sun block- I wear sunglasses year round but it is so important to protect your eyes during the summer especially because of the sun rays. I've become so used to wearing sunglasses, now if i try going without them I get a headache. I picked these up from H&M, only $5. They have tons of cute ones at Forever 21 from $5-$10. Sun block is necessary for everyone! I made it a habit to put sun block on before heading out, especially because my skin is so sensitive to the sun. My skin burns so easily! This Clinique sun block is the only one i can use because 1. it's fragrance free 2. lightweight 3. oil free 4. i use it as a primer before applying make up. Sun damage catches up to your skin so it's best to start protecting it now!
Covergirl Lashblast Volume Mascara- this $7 mascara kicked my $30 something Dior's ass. Thanks to my friend Zareen for introducing it to me. I absolutely love it! It's not clumpy and it actually works! It's very hard to find mascaras that work for everyone, and so far I've heard no complains.
Mac 'Lickable' lipstick & 'Bare Study' paint pot- I recently started using lipstick and I had the urge to try hot pink. I'm usually not into bright colors but 'Lickable' looks great on! the 'Bare Study' paint pot is great to use as a primer for eyeshadow or even by itself. Sometimes i use it as a highlighter as well.
Forever 21 'Salmon' nail polish- perfect for summer and looks good on most skin tones. only $2.80. how could you not want it? I've gotten tons of compliments on this color and a lot of people mistake it for OPI :x haha
