Our lady of pop

Lady Gaga in Vogue's March issue
"I want for people in the universe, my fans and otherwise, to essentially use me as an espcape...I am the jester to the kingdom. I am the route out. I am the excuse to explore your identity. To be exactly who you are and unafraid. To not judge yourself, to not hate yourself..."
"People are like, 'She dresses this way for attention.' Or like, 'Ugh, the meat dress.' " She rolls her eyes. "People just want to figure it out or explain it. The truth is, the mystery and the magic is my art. That is what I am good at. You are fascinated with precisely the thing that youa re trying to analyze and undo."
last but not least.. the McQueen dress.

Alexander McQueen March 17, 1969 – February 11, 2010

One of the greatest designers of this generation- Alexander McQueen. I still can't believe he's gone. I haven't seen such a talented, creative designer like him. I'm sure everyone who reads my blog knows I'm obsessed with him haha. The reason why I am obsessed is because his work was pure genius... I don't think he can ever be replaced. He was in a league of his own. "He proved that this industry and this city is one of opportunity, he left school with one O-Level and, with a good mix of determination, hard work and genius, he became and will remain one of London's leading lights" -Mr. Tillman.
Every single one of his runway shows completely blow my mind. I will watch them over and over again. They always leave me with an artistic inspiration. His last collection (Spring/Summer 2010) was beyond phenomenal. I encourage everyone to watch this fashion show, but only with an open mind. Because only then you will be able to understand the creative genius work that is put together.

"His imagination and his creative spirit have meamorphosed, just like theme hydbrid-sea creatures of his final runway collection, and they will live on to compel, shock and inspire another generation to dream the dream that is fashion". (Kristin Knox)
  Rest in peace.

its 2011?

hello all! I'm back after a much needed vacation. nothing beats hanging out with family over the holidays, seriously. Going to Lahore for almost 3 weeks was def not enough for me. Next time i visit, i plan to go for atleast a month. way too much family and sight seeing to do! I met some awesome people, shopped as much as i could, and went to spectacular events hosted by Origami Entertainment. I will be posting interviews soon with designers & musicians based in Lahore, Pakistan. stay tuned!

So it's 2011 huh? 2010 went by so fast. I'm excited to see what this year has in store for me. As for new years resolutions... I just hope that this year is better than the last. I do hope to make some changes, but i'd rather keep that to myself. Anyway, as a birthday gift my dad got me the Cannon T1i! Best gift ever! Im having fun trying to figure this thing out... for those who know me i'm not tech savvy at all! Well i hope you all enjoy the better and improved picture quality i'll be posting from now on!

RIP McQueen
i instantly fell in love with this leather clutch from Khaadi (store based in Pakistan). i wish i could take it everywhere with me!
the story behind these beautiful earrings. many years back, my dad used to sell jewelery so my mother gifted this to her sister. while i was visiting in Lahore, I had to attend a wedding and i had forgot some jewlery so i asked my aunt if i could borrow some. I fell in love with these earrings (even though they're clip ons.. they dont hurt!) and she told me i could keep them. i'm in love with this antique look!

i picked these floral oxfords up from Forever 21. i can't wait to wear them! This is as far as spring fashion as i go.
